Friday, February 17th

We will be writing book reviews on Dr. Seuss titles over the next two weeks for a special grade level project. This is a great time to reread your Dr. Seuss favorites. We will be reading Dr. Seuss books in class as well. Casino Night next Saturday, February 25th! Two students from our class can win a free dinner at Burger 21 or Tijuana Flats with yours truly! Auction available at the event.

Sunday, February 12th

Don't forget to send in mailboxes on Tuesday for our Valentines Exchange. This week all students will be participating in Jump Rope for Heart during their P.E. classes.

Sunday, February 5th

Yay! Tomorrow is the 100th Day of School. Time to do everything by the hundreds! Please turn in all Secret Sweetie items tomorrow so that we may begin distributing items on Tuesday. No school this Friday for Fair Day.

This Friday is Tacky Day. Remember to dress your tackiest best! Report cards go home this Friday. Awards will be distributed in the classroom on Tuesday, January 31st, at 8:20 am. Please arrive a few minutes early if you’d like to attend. They’ll last approximately 5 minutes.

There is no school on Monday, January 16th and Tuesday, January 17th. Scholastic book orders are due on January 18th. Go here to order online. Our class code is GKTBF. We will have a volunteer coming in on Thursday, January 19th, to present an art lesson. This is a rescheduled lesson from Great American Teach-In. I highly recommend that students wear old clothing or bring in a large, old shirt to wear over their clothing. There may be paint. Thanks.

Auction basket items due this Friday. Contact our homeroom parents if you have any questions. This Friday marks the end of the 2nd grading period. No school on January 16th and 17th.

P.E. is hosting the Jingle Bell Jog all week. Come jog with your child on Monday or Wednesday during our P.E. time! (12:30 pm - 1:00 pm) Elf Night will be held in room 306 on Tuesday, December 13th, from 6pm - 8pm. First grade will be having a Polar Express Day on Thursday, December 15th. Students are invited to wear their favorite pajamas to school!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I've uploaded pictures from Great American Teach-In and our Thanksgiving program to our class Shutterfly site. Also, our class will be visiting the Gingerbread Shop this Friday, December 2nd. Students will have an opportunity to purchase inexpensive gifts for family and friends.

Next Friday, 11/18, is our Thanksgiving program and breakfast. Please have your child dressed in their play attire. Meet us in the multipurpose room (cafeteria) at 8:15 am. Report Card Awards to be distributed this Tuesday in the classroom at 8:20 am. Wear red, white and/or blue this Thursday for our Veterans Day assembly. No school this Friday due to the Veterans Day holiday.
